The approach channel to Rewas Port has been chosen as an independent channel avoiding the Mumbai High -Karanja oil and gas pipelines of ONGC, which implies that Rewas Port channel is an exclusive channel which would be set aside only for the traffic meant for Rewas. This would be one of the USPs of the port, ensuring minimal waiting time for the ships in the channel. The 27.75 km long and 300m wide approach channel will be dredged to -14.5m CD in the initial stage of development. The channel would be deepened to -16m CD and -20m CD in the Phase II and Phase III expansion respectively.
Rewas Project

The geotech investigations carried out along the channel reveal the presence of soft material upto -20m below CD, and the channel can be subsequently deepened to this depth.
